Dear All,

July has been a month of progress. Our founder, Mark Goyder, received an honorary doctorate; our research has come along in leaps and bounds; we’ve run two of our dinners with a difference, and attended several other inspiring events. Planning has begun for our innovation labs in the autumn and the summits early next year – we look forward to seeing many of you there. As always, thank you to all our valued partners, sponsors and supporters.

With best wishes, the TC team

HONORARY DOCTORATE

Many congratulations to Mark Goyder – who has been awarded an honorary doctorate in Civil Law from the University of East Anglia. Very well deserved!

PUBLICATION: LETTERS TO A NEW CHAIR

We’re excited to announce the rerelease of our publication, Letters to a New Chair, in partnership with KPMG’s Board Leadership Centre. The ‘Letters to a new Chairman’ (as they were then titled) were first developed by Hugh Parker and the IoD in 1990 and revisited by Tomorrow’s Company in 2014. We argued then, as we still do – that good governance is a cornerstone of good business, and that the chair’s role is pivotal in both. Much else has changed since their initial release, however. DINNERS WITH A DIFFERENCE

The two roundtables we have run over the last month have given us some fascinating insights. Thanks to their popularity, we will be running two further roundtables on mental health and financial inclusion, on 17th and 10th September respectively. If you would like more information about either of these, please email Dr Scarlett Brown.
