To improve public procurement – use the Trust Test
Public procurement is too often solely made on price, and not enough on true value and to account for areas...
Following the publication of ‘Towards a New Covenant’ at the launch of theBusiness in Society initiative at the European Parliament, Brussels, on 23rd January, London will host the first in a series of high-level discussions across Europe to advance thinking on this important issue.
We believe that business is not apart from society but a part of society. A new relationship between business and society is needed. Recognising this and understanding what is now needed lies at the heart of the Business in Society programme. It is not enough, however, just to recognise the problem or wish things were different. To move forward businesses, investors, policy-makers and others need to have a practical framework they can use to formulate future strategy that does ‘good’; and drives business and wider society towards better combined outcomes.
Business in Society has brought together a prestigious panel to discuss the issues and key challenges, and provide a new and fresh perspective from the UK and beyond.

#BizSoc seeks to identify the key elements of business’s new role in society, recognising the mutual need to preserve and enhance the social, political, economic, physical and cultural infrastructure that underpins a flourishing society. The programme will also create tools that forward thinking business leaders and policy makers can apply at the heart of decision making.
