On 10th June, the University of Hertfordshire is organising an interdisciplinary workshop on corporate governance hosted by Hertfordshire Business School.
Laurie Fitzjohn-Sykes, our director of research, will be joining the workshop as a speaker alongside established scholars, early career researchers, postgraduate students, and practitioners from the private and public sectors. The workshop aims to critically assess the conceptual foundations underlying corporate governance discourse and practice, examine some of the latest empirical research in this area, and discuss some of the policy implications involved.
Laurie will specifically present on capital allocation and risk aversion in the boardroom, an issue highlighted in our latest report UK Business: What’s wrong? What’s next?
Alongside Alan MacDougall, Managing Director and Founder of PIRC, and Janet Williamson, TUC Senior Policy Officer, Laurie will also join the closing panel discussion on ‘Does self-regulation have a future?’.
