To improve public procurement – use the Trust Test
Public procurement is too often solely made on price, and not enough on true value and to account for areas...
Work should be the best route out of poverty. With 4 million people in the UK in work and living in poverty, that promise no longer seems to be true. We need to redesign the way our economy and workplaces operate to help people break free of poverty. We believe this should be at the heart of a responsible business agenda.
We invite you to join our Summit on how employers can tackle in-work poverty on 30th January 2020. This is kindly hosted by the City of London and convened by Tomorrow’s Company on behalf of the Financial Inclusion Alliance.
We believe that having employees living in the poverty zone is one of the biggest factors holding back productivity and harming mental wellbeing in the workplace; we think it is undermining people’s personal dignity, relationships and holding back opportunity; and we believe that addressing it will help to release untapped potential in the UK economy.
At the Summit you will learn what employers can do, how we can develop interventions that are relatively low-cost and can have a dramatic impact for individuals. We will discuss what can be practically done to address this issue and you will get the chance to join a powerful movement for change.
Location: The Guildhall, Basinghall Street, London, EC2V 7HH
Time: 8.30am – 12:30pm
Date: Thursday 30th January 2020
If you would like to attend, please register with us via Eventbrite. We hope that you will be available to join us.
