To improve public procurement – use the Trust Test
Public procurement is too often solely made on price, and not enough on true value and to account for areas...
“Despite all the difficulties, the UK financial, business and professional services sectors continue to play a crucial role in driving jobs and growth in the UK and right across the world. One of the many reasons that the City has prospered over the centuries is its ability to adapt and plan for the future.”
– Fiona Woolf CBE, Lord Mayor elect
“Building resilience and sustainability into economic orthodoxy and business decision-making is core to the IIRC’s long-term vision – to provide a solution to the uncertainty, instability and volatility of the today’s global economy.”
– Paul Druckman, CEO, IIRC
“The release of the Framework signifies a step-change as more and more businesses begin to adopt Integrated Reporting as a means of telling the company’s complete story, and how it creates value, taking stakeholders on a much deeper journey of understanding.”
– Tony Manwaring, Chief Executive, Tomorrow’s Company
We are delighted to invite you to raise the curtain on the International Integrated Reporting Framework, on Wednesday 4 December at the Mansion House.
In a world emerging from its first truly global financial crisis, institutions, policies and frameworks that build financial stability have never been more important. The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) firmly believes that the corporate reporting landscape plays a vital role in supporting the transition to a more resilient and sustainable global economy.
The International Framework is a catalyst to bring about profound changes in business and investor behaviours. The cycle of integrated thinking and reporting, resulting in efficient and productive capital allocation, will act as forces for financial stability and sustainability. This is why we, Tomorrow’s Company, are supporting the Framework as part of a solution to some of the world’s biggest challenges.
To date, over 100 businesses and more than 50 investor organisations from 25 countries have been developing the Framework alongside the IIRC, using their experiences to drive forward this evolution in corporate reporting. Following the Consultation Draft of the International Framework, earlier this year, the IIRC subsequently reviewed over 350 responses from organisations around the world which have fed into the development of the International Framework.
To mark this important event, Fiona Woolf CBE, Lord Mayor of London will be hosting the unveiling of the Framework. The guiding principles that support the Framework are very much aligned with Tomorrow’s City, the programme of events and dialogue with City and other leaders which will set out how the City can best ensure its future success as a ‘City of Cities’ by promoting and enabling long-term value creation, drawing on all the talent available.
We are delighted that she will be joined by the IIRC’s Chairman Professor Mervyn E. King SC, who will be delivering the keynote address. Professor King is a Senior Counsel and former Judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa. He serves as Chairman for the King Committee on Corporate Governance. He is Professor Extraordinaire at the University of South Africa on Corporate Citizenship, chaired the United Nations Committee on Governance and Oversight and has been Chairman of the Global Reporting Initiative.
