Tomorrow’s Natural Business Conference

11th November 2011 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Venue: ICAEW, The Great Hall, 1 Moorgate Place, EC2R 6EA, London

Can you put a price on nature?

For some the very thought is absurd; for others, there is increasing interest in pricing ‘ecosystems’ services, they are so often taken for granted and not priced at all.

When and how can you account for nature, and when are other types of intervention required?

Building on the work of the agenda setting project ‘The economics of ecosystems and biodiversity’ (TEEB), this session at the Tomorrow’s Natural Business Conference will be led by two of the leaders on the project; Alan McGill and Rachel Sinha.

Alan McGill is a Partner at PwC and in particular has led on the ground breaking report by Puma which has accounted for the cost of Puma’s impacts on water and carbon externalities and valued them at around €94.4m.

Rachel Sinha is the Sustainability Manager at ICAEW, and is managing the Institute’s engagement with the Finance Innovation Lab which seeks to answer the question, ‘how can we create a financial system that sustains people and planet?’

What skills do I need to ensure my decisions are sustainable?

The Sustainable Leadership Masterclass offers practical guidance on how to individually and collectively ensure that the sustainability agenda permeates and influences critical decision making across all sectors.  Edward Kellow, Head of Learning and Leadership and Julie Neir, Programme Manager for Europe will lead this session.
